Walks, hikes, and natural sites

The Parc Naturel des Sources, stretching from Spa to Stoumont, aims to protect and enhance a unique environmental heritage. This natural park is a place rich in history. You will find beautiful landscapes, as well as exceptional flora and fauna. Various walks and events are organized here.

The remarkable natural site of the Amblève Valley is worth a visit if you want to discover nature typical of the region. Immerse yourself in a bucolic setting. From leisurely walks to more challenging hikes, everything is possible in the area.

The website of the Maison du Tourisme Ourthe-Vesdre-Amblève also offers several walking and hiking routes for all levels. The same website offers themed walks: storytelling walks, historical walks, nighttime walks…

Many visitors come each year to the Coo Waterfall. You can kayak down the Amblève River or walk around the lake to enjoy the scenery. In Coo, you will also find Wild Park Coo, the Plopsa Coo amusement park, and Coo Adventure.

Sports activities

Cycling/mountain biking: There are beautiful cycling and mountain biking routes. A network of numbered cycling junctions allows you to create your own route. The RAVeL 5, which runs from Liège to Durbuy, passes through Stoumont.

Horseback riding and donkey rides: Le Fagotin asbl organizes pony and donkey rides. Horseback rides are offered by Equilibres ASBL.

Kayaking: You can kayak down the Amblève River, either solo or in pairs, starting from the Coo Waterfall. Coo-Kayak provides all the necessary equipment.

Adventure: Coo Adventure offers caving, horse riding, abseiling, climbing, tree-top courses, kayaking, orienteering, mountain biking, paintball, skydiving, rafting, winter sports, go-karting, and more.

Trail running (extratrail): Several permanent marked routes are available (free of charge), ranging from 7 to 30 kilometers.

Paragliding: Sensation’ailes Parapente Club Coo offers the chance to fly over Coo and the Amblève Valley.

Fishing: La Pêcherie du Rouge Thier offers trout fishing from March to September. La Pêcherie du Tultay also provides barbecue facilities.

The Wachiboux Fishing Club operates at night, from mid-April to mid-September.

Country golf: Also known as “agrogolf” or “farm golf,” this 12-hole course spans 1,700 meters and is designed by Ferme Monville. It’s a walk through fields with hills, ditches, and slopes.

The “December 44” Museum: Dedicated to the Battle of the Ardennes, this historical museum provides all the information about the La Gleize region, which endured the German counteroffensive in 1944. The museum features collections of artifacts, recreated scenes, the Tiger II tank, and a room with archive footage.

Stavelot Abbey: Visit the museums of the circuit, the Principality of Stavelot, Guillaume Apollinaire, and check the exhibition calendar.
